This blog is going to be used to mainly keep up on my writing...whether it is the love story I haven't written but am living every day or a future one on our two adopted boys...

Vacation!

This morning we are leaving to visit my family… 1100 miles away! We have drop the key off to the neighbor who is watching the cats, some drivers to a friend at church, then the doggie needs to go to the doggie hotel before we take off… all the little things to do! I haven’t seen my family since Christmas 2004 (seems like forever), so it will be good J.  Mom is excited! We’ll see how the money hold up with gas at $2.78 around here….pray that it goes down quickly! We already plan on spending over $350 in gas on the way.  I am hoping that it will be wonderful all around.  Maybe I can talk my sweetie into helping me start the love story about us…he may remember some strange things and I may pick his brain about what he was thinking back then… To friends & family, see you soon!

A week later...

Sorry there wasn’t a post before this. The week has gone very fast.  We have decided to spend the Easter weekend (plus a few days) back home. Getting ready for this is not an easy task.  I have to have someone feed my kitties everyday, the dog needed a reservation at the doggie hotel, and we had to make sure my wayward son has all his clothes in the shed (it’s a nice one—one of those big ones with lofts on both sides and lots of room) since he hasn’t gone into the job market or back to school (long story, I may have given you more info before this) AND make sure he knows he can’t come into the house while we are gone.  I may have to get him a couple cans of food to stick in there…he has been pretty good about not spending a lot of money the last week or so, and I know he’d appreciate it. I have to get ready to tutor tomorrow and Wednesday—I thought I had it easy, but instead of giving them a “pretest” like I wanted (minimal work for me), the vice-principle wants me to wait until the first of May, a couple weeks before the real EOG’s (end of grade tests) so them may ask questions about the tests, etc.  Oh well, just means I have to do a lot of typing up of all the hints and things we have gone over today instead of a week from now. I do pray no one is sick at the bank this week!!! I don’t have time!

I had to give the Pastor a REALLY bad time last night.  I found out he is going to start teaching a series on the book of James in a few weeks.  If you know anything about the book of James, one of the first things it says is “count it all joy…when you suffer trials”….AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! Not so bad though after you are out of the 1st chapter, BUT we are reading through the Bible in the morning and about the same time we start the book of JOB! Those first chapters of both books will happen about the same time….AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! (If you remember the book of Job, he loses his kids and almost all of his possessions all at the same time…he is left with a nagging wife and three friends that do not understand in the least!-the good part is that it is restored to him as more than he had before—so there is hope at the end of this!!) We may need some extra prayer as may starts!

Right now, I think I need prayer to get everything ready for our trip! (i.e. clean the house, tutor well, don’t forget anything like medicine, etc., etc….)

Training the masters...

This weekend one of my kitties had a great time with my sweetie. Every time he turned around she (the cat) was getting him to do all kinds of things for her...turn on the water in the tub so she could drink out of the facet, scratch her behind, sit down so she could relax in his lap....

Several times this weekend he turned to me and said, "Sodie says 'Meow'" with a big grin as he went to do her bidding. The only problem was that the dog was getting jealous!

Whirlwind weekend

I know I wrote everyday, sometimes twice or more the first few days. This weekend went like crazy. Saturday my sweetie decided we needed to see if we could trade in my van. After 5 hours (1 hour each way to the dealership, 1 hour eating lunch/brunch) we looked at Saturns (very disappointed), Toyotas (like the Corolla--not the deal they wanted to give us) and Huyndai's (sp??--they tried to rip us off...Tried to add $2,000 to the sales price & thought we wouldn't notice). Oh well, still have the van. My sweetie is enjoying his truck he bought this summer... a Chevy Silverado for $15,000. Not an extended cab & we had to put air in it (that was a pain), but a great deal! I know he wants to show it off. After church Sunday we went to my grandson's birthday party...I am glad we did! Only one of his school friends showed up and I am not sure if it was because of the time change, they thought it was on Saturday because it was last year, or if the directions were a little off. Good thing he wasn't hurt too much--he still received lots of presents from Grammas, Grandpas & mom & dad. He was very happy. His little sis is SOOO precious. She will be six months old this week! WOW, how time flies!

I should say that my son did not get up Saturday morning to get the job. Oh well, he's going to be learning the hard way!
