Books Have to Sing..

This morning I pick up a book my sweetie was reading. It was a Christian book, by a very good psychologist. I read the chapter heading and commented that he was on what should be a good chapter. He said the book was hard to read. I have to say that I have read parts of another book this man wrote and it had helped me at a difficult time. I was curious, so with a quizzical look, I asked why.

 

“Books have to sing.” He said, “The book we read on our trip flowed and sang. It kept your attention and was really well written. People will ask me why I read books that are not Christian, like Bill Bryson’s books. Don’t get me wrong, there are good Christian books out there, like Blue Like Jazz, now that book sang. He just happens to be a Christian.”

 

He doesn’t know it, but he can sing when he writes. It isn’t often, but it is good. I just hope and pray that when I finish my books, they will sing.
