Mommy Things....
I have the privilege of smiling right now. When the alarm went off this morning, I asked if I could stay in bed. My sweetie said “sure, but who will do all the mommy things?”
He meant all the mommy things such as making the coffee, feeding the kitties their breakfast, giving the dog her medicine, making sure daddy is taken care of-such as having lunch and clothes. Mommies ARE important, particularly in the morning!
I also smile because yesterday, when I was talking to my daughter, I told her that I had to get some mayonnaise from the store. I then asked her if she knew it was a mortal sin for a wife to run out of mayonnaise. She was very surprised at this and I laughed. It’s in the Book of Jerry—you know, the one that has all the quirks and idiosyncrasies specific to many men, but particularly specific to my sweetie. You know, the one that says pants hangers are bad (normal ones that leave a crease in the middle of the leg are just fine) and drinking glasses in the cabinets are to be placed right side up, not upside down (is that a southern thing?).
I have many things written in various places that have also brought many smiles. This morning another book title has arisen. It’s not the book of Jerry, it is “The Care and Feeding of Jerry” with a subtitle “Helps for Brides to Be, Newlyweds and all other Wives” or something like that.
Hmmm….it looks like I need to get going on my writing! If it would only pay the bills at the same time!
